the evolution of the 4th Industry

Industry 1.0 was more involved in manual labour and mechanical, the use of water or/and steam engines power. Industry 2.0 geared it up to electric and legacy machine and operated with humans' assistance, although it made the work easier for humans. Industry 3.0 came with the introduction of Information Technology and digital evolution, information became easier to store and retrieve, also leading to machinery reducing labour work for humans. Industry 4.0 seek to build a relationship between humans and robots and for robots to make decisions for humans based on the information it stores, retrieves and acquires, e.g. driverless vehicles, 3D printing etc. Generation where information and data can be stored online in a "cloud", data is viewed in-real time, and machines taking over most human activities. This has a huge effect on the employment rate that it might drop, the internet's cyber security threat of personal threats and taking over human innovative trait. There are measures that as a knowledge manager take in preparing for Industry 4.0, and the future of Industry 4.0.

In reducing the Unemployment rate in the 4th Industry involves Operator 4.0, this is developing technology that would not replace workers but assist humans. Developments such as human cyber-physical systems e.g. exoskeletons, virtual operator and health operators, and human- automation symbiosis e.g. smart, collaborative, social and analytic operators.

Open access helps information managers share their work on the internet free of charge so it can be reused and "stored". Publishers get compensated by subscription costs and these free data are still protected by data protection. Information managers can obtain data via others' article and research on the open access.
Digital delivery that include the distributions of media content such as videos, software, audios and video games. Information managers must be able to locate when there’s a need for information, identify, evaluate and effectively make use of that information to solve problems
.
information managers look into being more motivated in innovation in tools and technical, such as implementing portals for information library. Resorting to big Data to increase insight and it betters decision making with structured and unstructured data. Linking operators to smart digits to interact, create new information for decision making.
